Areas of Expertise

Athletic Therapy

In 2015, I began my Athletic Therapy journey in Victoria, BC. I had the privilege of being placed with some amazing preceptors and got to learn so much. A couple of my placements were: Castaway Wanderers Rugby, Shawnigan Lake Hockey, Volleyball College Championships, Taekwondo Canada Open and U Sport Rugby 7's Nationals. After graduating the program I've continued to work with great teams and at tournaments including: NAIT Athletics, OHA Edmonton, Canadian Ultimate Championships and LT Women's Rugby.

Equipment Management

In 2019, Bob Allen introduced me to the art of skate sharpening. I'd already fallen in love with equipment, learning everything I could from the men at the University of Saskatchewan, but until then skates were just skates. Athletic Therapy helped to show me just how much of an impact equipment can make, especially in injury prevention.

Strength and Conditioning

As a certified strength and conditioning specialist it has always been a passion of mine to prepare athletes to face the demands of their individual seasons. I have worked with Paralympian's, youth athletes and masters athletes. Finding the correct combination of power, agility and endurance to help an athlete perform at their peak is what it's all about.

About Me

I grew up in Rutherford Arena in Saskatoon, trailing my Dads' parka tails, learning everything hockey from the off-ice officials' box where naming the penalty became our competitive sport. I idolized the boys on the ice at the U of S. My love for goalkeeping landed me in Edmonton on the Pandas soccer team. It was here I discovered a love for Athletic Therapy and set my sights on Camosun College, a little college in Victoria, which is home to the best hands-on Athletic Therapy program in Canada.

Camosun presented an invaluable experience to learn the trade through supervised hands-on care of athletes from a wide variety of sports, age groups and skill levels with exposure from first response throughout the entire rehabilitative process. My mentors there provided incredible opportunities outside of the program to be involved with, including BC Hockey camps, the Taekwondo Canadian Open, and University and College nationals and provincials. I went beyond the program to Bob Allen and Peter Herd to hone my equipment skills. Tinkering with equipment quickly became a second love for me.

I endeavour to treat all the athletes I meet as individuals. Listening to their stories before deciding which path forward to help them down. Everyone has a unique story and will need a unique and tailored solution to help them become the best version of themselves.
